The Idea of Dramatic In October Wallpaper
November 2nd, 2010 - Posted in Apartments, Interior DesignsOctober is color month here at Apartment Therapy and we show you lots and lots of beautiful paint and wallpaper ideas. After a month of inspiration, I could not help myself back again! I had to jump into the game and the painting itself, of course, I’ve taken pictures to share. After playing around with making his own stencils (a FAIL, big fat) I finally ordered the Moroccan Camel Bone Weave stencils from Royal Design Studio. After arriving stencils I bought a gallon of flat black paint and one quart of semi-gloss paint dove white. I’ll admit that when I first painted the entire hall in a flat black paint I was getting worried. Very dark! I can not wait for the paint dry so I can start to paint white stencil on it. After I started applying the white paint I’m so relieved to find it all come together. The pattern of white on black background looks much lighter than I started to hope it will be when I only have a base coat of black top. As you can see in the photo, I have not quite finish my project. Stencil, even in a small alley, is a time consuming activity. I still have two small wall for a stencil and then, when I’m done with all that has a large area wall, I’ll cut the stencil into small pieces so I can get around tight quarters, such as around the bell. Of course, now I’ve repainted the hallway, I also have to replace the cloth that covered the walls hang the electric box and also tables that serve as our foundation. Stay tuned next week to see how it all came together. More
