Complete renovation of an apartment, pay homage to the Baroque staircase associated with 17th-century English master Edmund Pearce (on exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art), workshops / APD fashioned a contemporary update to the modern Tribeca apartment. Where Pearce included oak leaves and pine cones, Workshop / APD digitized interlaced branches of trees to create an element of modern beauty and craft in the water-jet cut steel, bringing fancifulness and return to the architectural ornaments. Like its predecessors, dramatic scroll – now in perforated steel – two-story woven together in unique ways. More
